MERS AMÈRES – Bitter Seas (working title)
“Mers Amères – Bitter Seas (AT)” accompanies people at Europe’s maritime borders who care for deceased and missing migrants and their families. A haunting portrait of ordinary people who stand up to Europe’s indifference. From the beaches of Senegal to the cemeteries of the unknown in Greece, from the overcrowded morgues in Tunisia to memorial services in the Canary Islands – the protagonists’ paths converge in their shared grief and search for truth and justice.
